The Memorial Endowment Fund provides a means for caring Christians to leave a permanent legacy by devoting donations and bequests to perpetual use in Christ based ministries.  Gifts are invested and earnings allocated and disbursed in such a way as to create a perpetual source of funding. The funds are overseen by an elected committee of church members, regulated by written guidelines and policies approved by the Congregation and managed professionally by a major investment firm.

Funds may be distributed based on written applications for gifting or projects which meet one of the following areas in the Congregation’s life:

  • The support of mission programs in the community and the world including the general mission of Wabash Valley Presbytery and the Presbyterian Church USA.
  • To initiate new ministries within the congregation.

  • To respond to the need for extraordinary (unbudgeted and non-routine) modifications to the church structure to ensure the structural integrity of the physical plant, to enhance the physical appearance of the buildings, to make the structure more appropriate for the programs of the church and usable for the members and guests and/or to bring the building into compliance with legal and code requirements

During the past several years, the fund has acted on behalf of the congregation in the following ways:

  • Support for tsunami and hurricane victims through cash gifts to the Presbyterian Disaster Relief Fund
  • Financial support for Second Harvest food distribution pantries.
  • Funding for food items used in providing meals at the Hammond Warming Shelter
  • Funding for the FPCH prayer shawl ministry
  • Supplemental funding for the 2005 FPCH Youth Mission Trip
  • Fee payment for learning seminary students through FPCH internships
  • Funding for costs associated with the implementation of the FPCH GodTime Ministry
  • Funding for fees associated with revitalizing the FPCH Youth Ministry
  • Funding for critical foundation repairs to Fellowship Hall
