WELCOME TO FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, HIGHLAND, IN

From Our Pastor, Rev. Dr. Laura Reason

One of the best things about being the pastor in Highland is having   the chance to work with such smart, funny, genuine, good folks as make up this congregation.  From the minute we began our life together 70 years ago, at the end of the Great Depression, we thought about helping others and set the amount of money we would give away from what people gave to us.   This strong commitment to caring is still at the heart of what we do all around us:  cooking for the homeless shelter, bringing in food for the pantry 365 days a year, working with Habitat for Humanity, fielding volunteers to ring for the Salvation Army for six weeks straight, five days a week before Christmas each year, buying school supplies for all the children of the clients of an organization we support, donating a variety of goods and money to Haven House….the list goes on and on.

The strong commitment to caring is at the heart of what we do with our worship, fellowship and educational opportunities too.  Almost every night finds different groups meeting in our building.  We have added two worship services in the last two years.  We have stimulating educational and fellowship opportunities for everyone.  We make great music – on organ and piano, with the choir and hand bells, singing traditional and praise music.

Best of all, we are committed to being and making disciples and want you to join us on this adventure.   Come check us out – and bring a friend!

                                                                                                                                             Blessings,

                                                                                                                                             Rev. Laura
