The Board of Deacons meets the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
As Deacons of the First Presbyterian Church of Highland and emissaries of Christ, it is our purpose to be in contact with and be a friend to all in our church family and all who enter our doors.
The deacons are responsible to:
- Be in contact with members to show God's love and compassion through deeds and words.
- Ensure confidentiality in matters of health and spiritual importance relayed to the Pastor, if so desired, by the member.
- Serve Communion in worship three times per year and as needed for the homebound.
- Represent FPCH at visitations and funerals and to arrange funeral luncheons at the reguest of the family or Pastor.
SACKURDAYS AND GLADYS' TABLE
Sackurdays is a ministry that serves sack lunches for the community on the last Saturday of each month from 12 - 1 pm. Cars should line up by Door B. All are welcome!!
Gladys’ Table is a ministry that delivers to home bound congregation members and friends healthy and nutritious meals. Gladys’ Table is sustained by committed and compassionate volunteers including outside organizations and by generous contributions of donors.
Our mission is modest: to nurture the hearts, minds, and bodies with a free meal and welcoming fellowship. We encourage volunteers from FPCH members, friends, and outside organizations to be THE HEART, HANDS, AND FEET OF JESUS by cooking and serving at these events.
